Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought. What do you think. Oh I am sorry you probably do not have a brain. I on the other hand will be happy to buy you a plane ticket to come here and see if you have the nerve to say that to someone I know.

We had a 3 day music festival in the area a couple years ago.  It was a dirt road to get to the venue.  Well it rained and the shuttle buses got stuck.  People whined and cried on TV about sleeping in the ditch and woods because they couldn't get on the shuttle bus back to their cars.

It was a 1.5 mile walk.

This country is doomed.

It's the altitude that's the worst part

My family and another family play to hike it in September.  If I make it my 3rd time.

Not a knock against truckers but they do spend most of their time sitting, so some of them are probably in terrible shape.  I’ve seen a few who could barely waddle into a gas station restroom.

You're not bound by duty hour and rest requirements as a non-commercial pedestrian. Maybe he had maxed his time and had to sit a lot to stay legal.

He also might have had a governor that kept his speed low. People stuck behind him must have been really annoyed when he stepped out to pass another walker going uphill. They don't understand how hard it is to get that much weight moving. It could have burned tens of calories to slow down and wait for a pass on level ground.

Thanks for the label.  Hello I am a 100% Disabled Veteran from volcanic dust scarring my lung.  I got this by delivering thousands of mask from my supply room without permission.   In my own never car that was ruined by it. They went to a brigade caught training at fFT Greely, AK.

This reminds me of a guy that approached me at a KY gas station a couple weeks ago, asking for a ride to his town about 16 miles from there. He explained that he was destitute aside from maybe $5 cash and had been there for two days trying to get a ride home (based on my observation he was telling the truth).

I was like “well if it’s 16 miles then why aren’t you already back home? You can walk that in under a day!” I gave him a couple water bottles instead of a ride. Lazy bastard’s probably still there bumming a ride for all I know.

When I was 19, I did a guy in Laos from a thousand yards out. It was a rifle shot in high wind. Maybe eight or even ten guys in the world could have made that shot. It's the only thing I was ever good at. Well, see ya tomorrow.

ABC's Good Morning America showed a map of his journey.   I have not found that yet but I do have details.

Source 1

Source 2 with truck picture

Starting point in Portland Oregon (Northwestern Oregon).  Destination is Nyssa, Oregon a short distance northwest of Boise Idaho.  In less than five minutes, using Mapquest, I saw that about 95% of the trip would be on I-84.  Somehow he took some directions that led him south of I-84 at Pendleton, OR...possibly on US 395.

To get to Nyssa, stay south on US 395, east on US 26 then east on US 20-26.

That would not be my choice but stay off of Forest Service roads.

So, let me get this straight....

He started walking out of there after dark?  He was in a truck that could idle and keep him warm for a considerable length of time.  Shoot, it even had a sleeper cab.  And it took him four days to cover fourteen miles until he found another human to give him a ride to safety?  Bullshit.  Either he was abducted by aliens or he was engaging in some kind of fuckery that he doesn't want to admit now.  He should just stick to the abducted by aliens story in my opinion.

Even if he was wading through thigh deep snow, uphill, barefoot, and doing only one mile every two hours.... and lets say he rested 30 minutes per mile.... that's only 35 hours of travel time.

What did he do with the other 61 hours?

His home in La Grande is by I-84 southeast of where he went south on I-84 (at Pendleton).  He should have known with just minutes of planning to stay on I-84 past his home area for a while until he exits the freeway near Ontario Oregon or Exit 3 in Idaho to take US 95 south.
