Looking for a set of Pac boots. Usage will be sedentary. Sitting on a tractor plowing snow. Sitting in a tree stand. Sitting out ice fishing.

Cabelas with the 1600 gram thinsulate. It almost never gets cold enough here to wear them but when it does, they are perfect.

Had an older version of these: Trans Alaskan
Best boots Ive ever owned for icefishing, bought a second pair 14 years later, just didn't fit right? Now own these Saskatchewan™ Pac Boots Good really good, but not as warm as the Trans Alaskans were, or maybe Im getting old!! At either rate if you do choose either of them they WILL go on sale |

Yeah, US Army surplus Mouse boots, preferably in black. I live in northern Minnesota. They are my go-to outdoor activity boots below 20 degrees. Ice fishing sitting on a bucket at -12 below, feet never get cold. Snowmobiling at 60mph, feet never get cold. Bought a pair for an electrician friend of mine who works outside all winter -- he coudln't believe his feet never got cold. Bought pairs for his whole crew and his kids. My wife and kids all have them. We leave a pair in the car in case of emergency. Too heavy for serious hiking unless you're a young 11B in Alaska or Germany. Old men pant after 1/4 mile. Sedentary? Perfect. They should be about $35 and pretty easy to find.

As posted already, the Mickey (Bata) boots are really hard to beat. They are all military surplus now, but you can still find them new and unissued. I bought a new pair a couple years ago, and they were marked with a contract number and the year they were made. 1980 for what it's worth. They were still like new and supple to the touch.

Quoted:
White's Boots Schnee's boots Hoffmann boots I hate Mickey mouse boots, a little bit of walking and my feet get soaking wet with sweat. I much prefer a good pair of pac-boots. I came to recommend Hoffmann. They can be had with a vibram sole and your choice of felt or thinsulate liners. |

Baffin. Those Canucks know how to keep feet warm and toasty and very comfortable to walk in too.
Feet getting cold used to be my weakness but ever since I got my Baffin Control Max I can hunt all day, ice fish all day etc without a single issue. http://www.baffin.com/ J- |

Baffin Eiger is our favorite. For snowmobiling in frigid Quebec, snowblow and shovel in driveway, etc. Slip on slip off no laces, removable liners, very warm as are all pack boots. Can be had for about $125 if you catch them on sale. They have a gaitor rolled into the cuff, i don't use that so I cut them out with scissors and an Xacto. Beware of similar models, all have quirks, Eigers nailed it!!
Bought several for my buddies earlier this year on sale at http://www.vermontgear.com/4000M001.html |
