| My laptop came loaded with Windows Movie Maker, so I can play with video files and of course MS Paint so I can play with image files, but it doesn't appear to have come with any software to enable me to play with sound files. Is there a free downloadable sound editor with which I can cut a few riffs out of a song and make my own .mp3 ringtones and the like? |
| +1 more for audacity. You'll need the lame encoder to got with it to export mp3's. It will take a little work to get it going, but if you set your system line out as the mic input, you can record anything you can hear on your computer, then edit it, and export in whatever format you want. Several guides you can look up depending on what you want to do. |
