I'm searching for a new PC.  Some now have built-in TV tuners.  Can someone tell me a little about them.  Does CATV hook-up w/o a special interface?  Can I record to the hard drive like TiVo or do I have to burn DVD's?  Are they worth getting?  Thanks.

-If you have cable, you should need a cable box.
-Yes, you can record to the harddrive. Get a big one.

I ahev a couple in my computers. The resolution is not as good a a real tv but for casual watching its ok. it hooks up like any other tv. it will record to the HD and on some of them you can author and do special stuff to the recording.

So the tuner is not "cable ready"?  I was under the impression that I only need a cable box if a subscribe to HBO or other pay channels.

So the video won't look as nice as an actual video DVD recorder?
