What's a good management software for PDFs, preferably freeware?
I have a ScanSnap that I use to scan all my statements, bills, receipts, etc into searchable PDFs. The software that I got with it years ago allowed you to search all the PDFs by using Google Desktop Search or Windows Search (I can't remember which). I lost the disk though. I am having trouble using Windows Search because my PDFs are stored on a NAS rather than on the computer itself. So I guess I'm going to organize everything into aptly named folders for now to help me narrow down what I would be looking for. The biggest thing that would help would be a viewer that I could scroll through the PDFs to preview them instantly without opening them all with FoxIt or Adobe Reader to see what they are. ETA: something like Windows Live Photo Gallery for PDFs. After that, it would be nice to have something more powerful to have something like I did before, that would help me manage everything... search contents within a directory, etc. What's out there that will do what I want? |

If you want windows search to catch your NAS, you'll have to add it as an indexed location.
