I hope you'll be able to see this facebook thread, they attack the female hunter with threats of death and calling her a cunt and wishing her dead.

I don't get the desire to shoot a giraffe, personally. It's like a shooting a barn, if the barn was less intelligent than an ordinary barn. I'm sure the wildlife management agency had a good reason to cull the herd, and probably got a decent license fee from her to do it, but it doesn't impress me to shoot a giraffe with a rifle.

At least the natives good some tasty dinners for a few days.

It's fucking hypocritical of them to wish a human dead over an animal, the comments were off the hook.

More power to the lady for enjoying exotic hunts but it never crossed my mind to shoot a giraffe. I don't want to agree with PETA types but how is shooting a large, slow moving, mostly docile animal sporting? Especially when she very likely kept no meat.

I agree.   There are some animals I simply have no desire to kill.  Giraffes are squarely in that category.  But like you said, it it is part of population control or a licensed system, no problem with her doing it.

Mostly, they chase silly people who think it's a good idea to go play with a 3,000 pound wild animal. I'm okay with that, as is my long, lost cousin Mr. Darwin.

The biggest problems facing giraffes are the lack of water and acacia. The locals herd their cattle around watering holes and the giraffes won't go there until the cattle leave. Acacia is a big tree and people cut them to cook with the wood.

My guess is that it was on a preserve. They inventory the animals. If the herd overgrew the preserve's capacity to carry it; it's better to shoot a couple than to let them starve.

Yeah, I'm right there with you. The fee she paid will help conservations far more than anything PETA will ever do. Better they collect a fee for the Giraffe than pay a professinal hunter to do the cull.

That's a lot of fucking chicken!

I too have no desire to shoot a giraffe, but what the hell why not? We all know the money from those tags goes to preserving wildlife and the meat goes to feeding the local tribes. It's a win-win with most African hunting.

That being said I shoot all sorts of tasty (and a lot of not tasty) animals right here in the US. It's great to watch PETA heads explode. There is a guy here in his early 20s that had a picture go viral on facebook. It was a pickup bed packed FULL of coyotes after 36 (I believe) hours of straight hunting. The PETA tards were out in full force there.
