For those of you who have not yet noticed, pics are now active on the forums... (since this morning!) Keep in mind they may be handled a bit differently than before. (Ed and I will discuss how ultimately to deal with these and links) Simply put, for links you need only type the link with the full URL (easy to cut and paste) ex. http://www.ar15.com For links you need to enclode the address to the link in the board img tags WITH just the web address and no leading "http" [img]www.ar15.com:1111/images/logo.gif[/img] -- Goaty |

[size=3]i'm not sure it's true in all situations, but after some experimenting it seems that the actual file name including the extension is case sensitive..at least this was my problem..if i change to a case not same as hosts it wont work. anyone else get same results? [img]www.monmouth.com/~stever/alfred.JPG[/img] [size=2]whereas "alfred.JPG" works and [img]www.monmouth.com/~stever/ALFRED.jpg[/img] "ALFRED.jpg" does not work [img]www.monmouth.com/~stever/ALFRED.JPG[/img] "ALFRED.JPG" does not work either. Alright at least I can share what it took me many attempts to learn. For those who do not know how to post a pic, do as follows. First, you have to have a web=page to uplaod the pics to. Now, come back here, and type the following: - Now, this is just an example. When you post yours, leave the dash marks off the beginning and end, and then replace the <> with [] and naturally you need to use the website address of the image you wish to post. Hope it's clear, but nothing ever seems to be. "No man can be truly free whose liberty is dependent upon the thought, feeling, and action of others, and who has himself no means in his own hands for guarding, protecting, defending, and maintaining that liberty." -- Frederick Douglass, 1882 |
