I clicked on this initially just because of the insane look on the dude's face but the story is awful.

http://www.click2houston.com/news/Driver-charged-in-collision-that-killed-unborn-baby/-/1735978/13386172/-/7alaeuz/-/index.html

A 20-year-old woman who was five months pregnant lost her baby after a horrific car crash, investigators said.

According to the police report, Craven had a child in the car with him.

"I think it was a little girl. They took her by ambulance because her teeth were knocked out," Campbell said.

This is Craven's third DWI charge His criminal record in Harris County is lengthy dating back to 1999 with drug charges. He pleaded guilty in 2000 to criminally negligent homicide. Police said he struck a vehicle that was stalled on the road, killing a 10-year-old child.

His first DWI conviction was in 2005, followed by another in 2008.

It is not DWI anymore.  It should be 2nd degree murder!

No way to stop them, unless you lock them up.

There are more permanent alternatives that stop them as well.

'splain to me how someone with a criminally negligent homicide DUI can be allowed to operate anything more powerful than a roomba.

That's two dead children because of his driving, drunk and sober. Take him out back and shoot him in the head. If he killed my son, I'd kill the dumb shit.

That's really tragic. The worst part is that it happened in the same county I live in.

Sounds like this will be his last one for a while if not ever.

If he doesn't get life in prison, something is wrong with our justice system.

(I think he should be shot tomorrow, but we all know that won't happen)

I would be okay if someone just put one behind his ear.

If I am ever hit by a drunk driver, and
I'm ambulatory, I'll be the one needing a lawyer.

Nah fuck that, murder 1.

If he's done it and gotten caught 2-3 times before, it's premeditated murder.

Don't be an ass.  No one has advocated that people who cause an accident because of alcohol should go unpunished.

I can understand not going overboard at someone's first DWI.

I can't understand there not being harsher punishments for cases like this though where there's a history of not just DWI, but injuries/deaths associated with them.
