Thinking of getting one. Small easy to slip in pants pocket. Would the .22LR be a better choice than the .32? Is there a similar pistol that might be better to own? Are .22LR reliable in an automatic? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks |

PPK's are like Colts. Good product, but you're gonna pay extra for that name. There are alot of copies out there that can be had for half the price. Quality varies. MY suggestion is to shop around. IF you tihnk the name and quality is worth it, go for it. My father has an Iver Johnson copy in .22. Not bad, but it jams more that i'd like it to. |

if i was getting a ppk id get the 380 over a 32 or a 22 same size but bigger bullet. if u want a pocket gun get a keltech p32 ive read many a good thing about them and i liked it when i shot my friends problem is trigger pull is a little heavy but thats to prevent shooting yourself when the guns in your pocket. |

I have had to get rid of 3 PPKs simply because the cut the hell out of my hand. I swear that the PPK had to be the prototype for the slice-n-dice. BUT... Now that S&W is making the PPK I may just have to get another. They have increased the beavertail to protect the webbing of your hand. they have also modified the feed ramp to feed JHP ammo better. In the mean time, three other similar guns to consider are the SiG 230 or 232 in 380, the Makarov in 9mmMak and the Bersa Thunder. |

Go with the Sig P-230/232. Very nice .380 auto. A bit snappy with personal defense ammo but accurate, reliable and easy to hide. My fav carry piece after my Walther P-99. Bianchi 100 Pro in-the-waistband holster works well too. I carry mine in the small of my back. Nearly invisible but readily accessible when needed. Best part is, you can probably find on for about 1/2 the cost of the PPK...(Which I also like, BTW.) |
