SPR-26 lower with Mk12 Mod 0 upper. Anyone build a clone?

None for me thanks. Thats a lot of coin for a showpiece. It's too easy to build a comparable performer for cheap. If you do build one, add to the MK12 pic thread in AR15 discussion.

Can you point out a page with a SPR-26 lower with a personally owned upper slaved too a Mk12 Mod 0 carbon fiber fore end with the upper rail and brake? Or a transition with a gemtecth thread on?Something from the era of trashed SPR26's and turned in SR'25s? From around 2007?

I'm confused; what's the big fascination with this "SPR-26" lower?  I Googled it and didn't get much except this thread.  Why not just build as close-to-spec a Mod0 as possible?

U.S. Army gave SPR-26 to English to Basra with. When I left Mk.12 Mod-0 uppers started to come in. They had AI so we kept the uppers.

Due to CA's impending ban on everything I bought a pair of lowers.  Because I enjoyed these threads so much, one is going to be a Mk.12 clone and the other is going to be some NSW variant of some sort.  It'll give the old man and I something to do over the winter.

I dont have one -but I want one. It is sorta stupid money to throw at something just for the look and to be like the "Real" one, but I still want to do it.

OP, I have no clue what any of that means.

Mod0s originally had re-serviced M16A1 lowers.
