I hope this is the right place for this to be, if not-MODS, move it! I have a PS3 that everything on it works fine but the networking. No wifi, ethernet, and the controllers take fucking forever to link up. It play movies and games fine, but no network connection on it. I followed all the troubleshooting guides I could on the net and ordered and replaced the network card/USB card. Still no joy. ANy ideas or a place where I could send this off to to be repaired? Thanks, all and IM me if necessary. Redman |

Have you called the PS helpline? They are actually really helpful. You will go through a filter person and they hand you off to a playstation tech. Who will work with you.
If they can't fix it, they may exchange it for $99 shipped. That's what they did for my launch model last year. |

Is your router/modem set up and working (computer/wireless)?
I had to reprogram my router and ps3, mine work log off of the Psn for no reason in the middle of playing. If it's that, I can try and find the guide I used. Controller sync: as in turning on and connecting to the system or plugging them in to register to the system? |

Everything else on the network wired and wireless works fine. I turned it on one day and it told me I had no internet. I checked the main comp and laptop---internet. I unplugged the ethernet from the PS3 and tried my laptop in it. Worked fine. Tried switching the PS3 to wireless. Can't detect AP. Laptop still working fine on wireless, too. Opened PS3 up and replaced network board with new one I have bought. Nothing. I may go back and try to reseat my connectors one more time, tonight-if I have time. I am beginning to think it is having its issues with the motherboard. |

Already 'restored' the HD as part of the troubleshooting procedure. Sony probably would laugh at me...its like 5 years old. 80GB. |

Lived a lot longer than most. The old "fat" ps3's have(or did) a replacement program, due to all the hardware(motherboard) failures. Mainly soldering melting away from contacts. If not, new ps3's are pretty cheap. |
