Maybe one of you guys can help me with this 'LookingFor' dialer nonsense my stepdad has managed to get onto their computer? He managed over the weekend to get about eight pieces of adware/trojans. The others I managed to ferret out between Hijack This, a little manual elbow grease, and good spyware detectors.

But the LookingFor nonsense looks like it's going to take some serious registry editing that I'm not comfy with without some guidance.

Even a $8,000 hardware firewall won't protect you from spyware and viruses.

I have nothing on mine, no anti virus or anything.

Ok cool! Thanks!
Can I just go to Best Buy and buy that?
I am not good at computers so they are I hope, fairly easy to use?

It's cheaper if you download it off AVG or McAfee's website.

ETA: McAfee is very user friendly.

I have dial up here at home, that would take a week.
Even the free virus scan times out....
Off to Best Buy in a few hours....

Thanks for the info, I have no idea what kind of crap may have gotten in here.
