So I am looking for some good paintball forums and help. Any suggestions out there? Good places to buy, read reviews and get advice.

I have a Tippman A5, HPA want to get a remote for it and one or two tnk set-up but can not find a vest or something to hold this.

So what do you all use? I am checking the google but not finding much of what I am looking for.

PBnation.com is the central source for paintball stuff. I hated the classifieds (people selling wanted too much and people buying low balled) but there was a lot of information there and the older members were pretty helpful.

I went through three guns in a little more than a year before I quit. I decided I wanted to get into real guns so I sold my setup to buy one of those $550 CMMG bargain bin rifles... but I didn't and ended up needing the money for rent. Either way, I'm glad I got out of it and look back on it as a tremendous waste of money.

I will say this though, you do not want to get a remote. It might seem like the logical thing to do but there are reasons why you wouldn't want one. I had one when I first got started and immediately got rid of it after I realized how much trouble it was. The hose seemed to always get in my way and charging and decharging the marker was a bit of a hassle since I had to do it at the connection of the bottle and the hose and not at the marker. Having the bottle on the gun also acted as a stock would on a rifle, allowing you to put the gun in a consistent position and improve accuracy.

holy hell man how much do you shoot to justify TWO TANK set up??  and a remote tank is going to get HEAVY, not to mention the line will get snagged on everything.

a 68ci 3000psi tank should give you about 750+ shoots....more then enough, until you can get back to the pro shop for a refill.

if you need more go with a 45/4.5k psi, or a 68/4.5k psi.

what do you play?  woods?  speedball?

Me too, great information if you can self edit out the blatant immaturity.

As for me, I played up until I graduated college, now im in the military and dump a lot more of my money into real guns.

I miss it a lot, and still try to support the college team/club that I started back in '02.

Thanks for the help and advice. I think I will check out pbnation.com and I don't think I am going to get a remote. I do shoot a lot when I play, both speed and woods ball. But I am more of a suppressive fire type, I am not that accurate with my marker.

I used to play in the NPPL and PSP. I quit playing because I had a kid. Had to buy a house. Didn't have the money to play like I was and didn't want to slow down so I quit.

you will have a much better time hanging around www.mcarterbrown.com  than the nation.

I run with a Tippman X7, 12" Lapco Bigshot bbl, TechT cyclone upgrades, and a 4500 remote. The remote lines occasionally get in the way, but it isn't a big deal. I like having such a big tank, so it's worth it. Sometimes I can go the whole afternoon on one tank because I have a stock semi-auto trigger.

After investing in the gun and gear, it doesn't cost me or my crew much at all to play (we have our own air setup that allows us to fill for free) because we generally play at our own fields. Paint is about the only thing that costs us and for me, 1,000 rounds ($20) is usually more than plenty.

Don't give up on the remote line just yet.  I've been running a coiled remote line for years and have never had any real problems with it getting caught on stuff even when in thick woods.  Maybe if you have a straight remote line that is hanging loose but a coiled line is not going to be hanging too far from your body and isn't going to get caught on anything that your body wouldn't.

A remote line takes a heavy air or CO2 tank off your gun and puts it on your back where the weight is much less noticeable.  It makes the gun shorter and allows you to hold it in tighter.  It does make shooting left handed harder but I don't play speedball and don't encounter many situations where that would be needed anyway.  A coiled remote line also can serve as an expansion chamber and helps prevent pressure dropoff from rapid fire if you are using CO2.

It used to be hard to find HPA fill stations so I ran a remote setup with a 20oz CO2 tank on my back feeding into a Palmers Stabilizer (regulator) on my A5.  It works great and I still use it occasionally although I have a 68ci 3k tank that I use as well.

I have a paintball vest that has pod pockets in front, a tank pocket and a couple more pod pockets in back.

Similar to this:

I like the vest vs a pod carrier because the carriers always seemed to fall down or flop around, with the vest things stay in place and the weight is distributed across the body instead of being concentrated on the back.  The vest also provides some protection from branches and also paintball hits.

If you want to get into modding check out the underground mod shop.  There are some really clever and smart guys on there, although it's not anything like pbnation, they don't suffer trolls kindly there.

Back when i was playing, I had a Tippman Pro-lite, and ran a Phantom pumpgun. I also used my tricked out F1 illistrator allot.
