like to, but the last time I took a shirt in to be replaced, asked to keep a patch, the PCO said no bc officers were selling them on ebay
seemed like some bullshit, but whatever. kinda shiity the HQ has a nice collection on the wall but us working guys get the stick and can't even have a patch from our own dept. |

I can find our patch on Ebay, from sellers in several states! A couple of the sellers appear to be in the business of selling things like that. |

Patch collecting is big business. Since most of the patches are made in China, Taiwan, or India, the security is pretty lax and many patches, especially over-runs, find their way into the hands of collectors or people that sell them to collectors. Additionally, there are many Departments that sell their patch to the public, some even give them away. California has a number of patch shows where you can buy patches and police memorabilia. A lot of them support the Explorer programs in the local Police Departments. Many Police and Fire employees are collectors. |
