Don't know if this has been posted before, but this is something I've just noticed. Watched "Patton" again (lost track of how many times), and saw something that made my jaw drop. Early  in the movie, Patton is coming to take command of 7th Army after Kasserine. He is standing in the halftrack, holding on to the barrel of a .50 with the siren blasting. On the right front is a flag plackard denoting his rank - 2 white stars on a red field. On the left front is another flag plackard with "WTF" (which was my reaction on noticing it). Was this an authentic detail or an inside joke? Anyone know for sure?

Did you see the halftrack run over the chicken when he entered the town? I must've seen the movie twenty times before noticing.

Googled and found this.

Western Task Force, a part of Operation Torch which Patton was Commanding prior to taking command of II Corps

Algore hadn't invented the internet at that point, therefore, internet speak wasn't around when they filmed Patton.

I clicked on this thread fearing a 'Remake of the classic movie Patton, starring Ben Afleck as the iconic General'.

Anyways, interesting tidbit there about the WTF.  I'll have to look at my grandfather's records again, see if he served in WTF...

That movie looks kind of neat.
