what the hell is going on with software companies these days? The last 2 games i bought turned out to be complete crap. Not just crappy games but horribly unstable and full of coding bugs. I go to the website for support and there are PILES of complaints from all over about the same issues. I know there are problems today with no 2 pc's running the same hardware but but dammit you'd think they'd test this stuff before putting it out on the market. I had a few new games i was interested in. Went to the website this morning to check on any "issues" and sure nuff TONS of complaints on all of them. it's pretty damn sad that these companies can get away with charging an arm and an ass for shitty coding. i miss the old days, when bought software... it usually worked. |

the latest pile of crap was EVIL GENIUS. that damn thing is so full of holes i don't think anyone has acutally been able to complete the game. i was looking at SID MEIR'S PIRATES! this morning. the volume of customer problems is overwhelming. I know that on those forums all you see are the problems. but i also look at how the company is responding and if resolutions are found or patches released. If the company is unresponsive they are 100% off my list. just like the big fiasco with 1/2 life awhile back. i was looking forward to it, but after that and EG anything made by vivendi is off my list. |

I find Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam to be top notch games. PS any $9.95 game is going to be buggy as hell. |
most of the 9.95 games are the same games that were 49.95 last year. |
| I think crappy unstable games sort of pushed me away from PC gaming. I generally won't buy anything now until I read a few reviews or they release the first patch. Deadlines and all that stuff push the box out the door, which results in many problems. For $50, I'm not going to be their beta tester. |
Wow, interesting read. I never knew things were that bad. |
