Im 23, I work out all the time and im in good shape. but Ive weighed 140lb soaking wet for about 3 years. I drink my protien regularly, but here recently Ive gotten addicted to unsallted peanuts and Ive gone up to 150 lbs. in about the last month. I know peanuts are high in protien. Could the peanuts be the reason for me gaining weight?

Relatively high in protein and healthy fat.  Fat just equals more calories.  More calories = gain.

This.  Peanuts are very rich in monounsaturated fatty acids.

Natural peanut butter is one of my favorite Caloric fillers.  I also consume a lot of raw walnuts(primarily polyunsaturated).
