Evidence that Mueller's got a whole lot of nothing continues to pile up as Pelosi finally decided that a Trump impeachment attempt would be such a disaster that it's worth pissing off their base now to derail it before it could have too much effect on the election. Doing this was especially painful for her because it makes her much, much more vulnerable to the far left commies who are at war with the old guard Democrats whose banner she carries.
‘I’m not for impeachment,’ Pelosi says in Washington Post interview House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in an interview that she opposes moving to impeach President Trump even though she believes he is "unfit" for office her first definitive statement on the subject and one that stands to alienate members of her own Democratic Party who are intent on ousting the president.
"I'm not for impeachment," she said in a March 6 interview conducted for a future issue of The Washington Post Magazine. "This is news," she added. "I haven't said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I've been thinking about this, impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there's something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don't think we should go down that path because it divides the country. And he's just not worth it." (snip) Most House Democrats agree that they should give the chairmen of investigative committees the space to conduct their probes before engaging in serious impeachment discussions. But Pelosi's suggestion that she doesn't support those moves at all because "he's just not worth it" won't sit well with some in her caucus. |
| They may be focusing on longterm more now, reversing 2016 is short term. Not even that, it's over two years ago and they probably do know that they may not even get him voted out in 2020. We have a good economy and no unpopular war. Without that they don't look too good in 2020 and they must know it. Starting a big messy impeachment won't help any either. |

Pelosi isn't as dumb as many here like to think...
She knows the Senate won't convict so it's a waste of time and there isn't anything really there in the Muller report. She's right, getting the moaning and groaning over with now from her party She also knows that it would motivate the rights base for 2020 and it's looking like the Dems are going to be very divided with all the "SuperStar" names in the ring. They're going to tear each other down and all it takes is for 1 of them to run 3rd party to kill the chance of a Dem POTUS win. I think even Pelosi doesn't like the way her party is going with the likes of AOC, Talib and others. |

"He's not worth it" is what you say when you want to sound like you could do something but you know you can't. Pelosi knows there's no chance in hell Trump could be impeached but she wants to appease her base and belittle Trump despite there being no impeachable offense. The dem's are shifting strategy. They gassed out swinging for the knockout, now they are going to take short jabs hoping to score enough points to win the decision in 2020. If they try and impeach and fail it makes it more difficult to continue with endless investigations and scripted talking points. |

I think the Democrats think they have 2020 in the bag and that the American people will toss Trump out. That is why there will be a couple of dozen Democrat candidates for President. I think she figures that calling for impeachment could snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with less than two years left in Trump's term God i hope she is wrong |
