I'm every bit the HUGE football fan as the next guy, but am I the only one who is really disappointed in the reaction of many Penn State fans?
What transpired there is bad enough already but then you get the students rioting when Joe Pa is justifiably fired, thinking that Joe is a victim. Now I'm hearing reports that fans should wear white and former players are showing up to the game to show their support for Joe. This game is marred by crimes against children and shouldn't have anything to do about an 80-something coach who did too little to protect those who can't protect themselves. That makes him a coward in my book. Him and all the other asshats who turned their backs and covered it up. It makes me think of that quote ... "when good men do nothing, evil prevails". PSU no longer means Penn State University, but rather "Pedophiles Stand United". |

Personally, I don't see the reaction of most, any different than those who want to ban guns when one idiot kills a bunch of people. I know this is an emotional issue but there was only one guy that molested kids.
Also, the justice department is as equally culpable for not prosecuting this guy in 1998. Also, where is the Sandusky's wife in all of this? You mean he could fool his wife but not anyone else? Also, McQuery's actions do not fit his testimony. His eye witness claims are just not believable considering what he claimed he saw. His actions fit more with what Paterno and the others claimed was reported to them. I'm unwilling to accept that after witnessing what he claimed, he wouldn't call authorities. Makes no sense. His hindsight just doesn't fit his actions. How much of his testimony was coached by the investigators? It's an ugly situation but I'm not willing to blame all of Penn State for the action of one depraved individual, just as I'm not willing to blame all gun owners for the action of a mass killer. If he fooled his wife, he was a damn good liar. There's much much more to be learned. |
