Im cross posting this from the HTF

I know its late notice, but just got this email from my local gun club.

This is an action alert about the Beaver County anti-gun group “Beaver County Voice for Change” which staged a local anti-gun protest on March 24 in sympathy with the gun control movement in DC is meeting again this coming Saturday at 1 PM in Beaver in the Irvine (Beaver) Park at the Gazebo on Main St. across from the Post Office. Initially, they were scheduled to meet in the Community Room of the Beaver Municipal Building but after finding out that gun owners were aware of this meeting they changed their plans to the park.

The purpose of this meeting is to talk about gun control and to pressure politicians to support more gun control laws. Newly elected Congressman Conor Lamb will be in attendance here and he MUST be challenged on his positions on the 2nd Amendment and gun control as he has refused, again, to answer the FOAC candidate questionnaire. Further, he is opposing current Congressman Keith Rothfus, in the 17thCongressional District, who always has been supportive of the Second Amendment.

We are asking every gun owner to show up and pepper the organizers with justification for their positions on gun control and in abridging Second Amendment rights. Further, we should challenge any politician who shows up in support of this progressive/socialist group and their ideals and get pictures of them participating in this anti-freedom rally. This is a specific strategy designed to take control away from the anti-gun groups and to confront, politely but firmly, the concept that we, as law-abiding citizens, must surrender our freedoms because government can’t do their job in dealing with violent criminals and enforcing current law. This is the kind of passion that we all should have to defend Freedom from all attacks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBEUlJZg5CY&sns=em

PLEASE if there is any way for you to make it and show your resolve for the Second Amendment will put these misinformed snowflakes that Freedoms are not a chip to be bargained away in some big game.

Several pages ago I mentioned the radio stations I can get in my car while commuting to/from work and just plain traveling.

A few weeks ago there was a shuffle of stations.
For starters 92.1 "The Last Independent Rock Station" has switched to Christian Rock.
93.5 has switched to C&W
And at least two, more likely three other stations, have changed their music styles.

It's getting harder and harder to find a station to listen to for more than a while at work.  They all nearly sound the same

One of them is just down the mountain from me, dunno why it even made the list to be honest it's not bad at all.

ETA: Hell, in the almost 3 years this thread's been running I've probably said where I live more or less, the town I'm talking about is Clearfield. So it making #7 on the Top 10 Worst Towns in PA List is kind of a head-scratcher, I drive down there all the time to go Grice's or Bob's or whatever and haven't been murdered, not even once.

Hmmmm yea, I live in a much less desirable place than that. We average at least once high school kid arrested for murder per year.

Yeah see something like that I can see making a place get on the list. Clearfield County has had 9 homicides total since 2000 and most of the murders were domestic disputes that went stabby, someone fucking someone's wife and getting stabbed for it, and murder-suicides. I can't recall any of them being in the city of Clearfield itself either, and your chances of a random stranger wanting to get into a gunfight with you is effectively zero.

Then again, on one of the later towns on the list he basically said a place was "too white" as one of the reasons why it was bad, so if that's one of his criteria then that could be a factor here, not sure about the city of Clearfield itself but the county overall is 97.4% white. Clearfield County also issues a lot of out of state carry permits, so that may be something he's aware of and that pisses him off...to which I say: Good.

Rant and rave. Why does this state have so many bullshit laws and regulations? Addressing highway construction zones. First of all, headlights on in construction zones? What is that supposed to accomplish? Why does the state slow traffic down to a ridiculously slow speed for 10 miles for someone cutting the grass? I lived in Ohio and the slowest speed in a construction zone was 55 and sometimes 60 mph. In both Ohio and West Virginia speed could be maintained in a construction zone if the construction zone signs aren’t flashing. I could go on and on about no semiautos for hunting. No Sunday hunting. Act 33 for healthcare workers. Why the plethora on nonsensical laws in this beautiful state?
