Has anyone ever used this stuff on anyone? If so how effective was it?![]() |

I've used it a few times. Depends on the person. CS, OC and pepper spray don't affect me much at all. Used to it I guess. I've had a partner that got a wiff from over spray when I zapped a guy and you'd think I shot him with a shotgun in the face. The real pain is clean up and detox afterwards. If you use it indoors, some prefer the foam so it doesn't linger. Hate to clear out a mall due to fumes..... My buddies once sprayed the interior of my vehicle one night while I was not looking. I didn't even notice. They had a good laugh until they realized it was lost on me.... I used to eat spicey food all the time. I've sprayed it on my burgers at Burger King while in uniform. Makes em taste better. My partner sprayed the radiator of a fleeing vehicle one time and they bailed out within 50 feet of being sprayed. It was funny. |

If it catches you right, it can put you in real distress. However, it can also be like taking a knife to a gunfight. That is why cops are starting to carry Tasers. I think that will make pepper spray obsolete. Pepper spray is better than nothing, but not much better than nothing. For instance, I have carried it for years, and have been exposed to it more than a few times. If I got sprayed with it, someone would be having a very bad day...... |
Actually, I've tried it on Wendy's chili and it's not bad... Everyone reacts differently to the stuff.. Some folks just look too long at the label and can't breathe, others can use it as breath freshener.... YMMV.... But that being said, I've yet to have a 'failure' w/ the stuff from Fox.. Used one more perps and dogs than I care to count. (And it'll definitely add life to your scrambled eggs!) |
EXCELLENT! I'm the kind of guy that walks around the house eating Jalepeno Peppers and sipping a beer and not thinking anything of it. So I imagine I would like it on my omlettes! |

Go for it.... We used to keep several jars of jalapeno's and cherry peppers on my boat until one year the head backed up... tried flushing it to no end.... Pulled the tank at the end of the season and found it to be absolutely crammed full of albino pepper plants... |

Pepper spray is just that, based on plant life. Will tabasco cause you to be unable to breathe and spasming on the ground? I think not. Pepper spray is more a Psy ops tool than anything else. It's reputation is far worse than the actual effect. Same thing when I saw a weight lifter SO Deputy grunt through a taser jolt and not hit the ground. It is possible. He enjoyed it and did it again. It was a first gen model. I doubt he do that with the new ones. CS? I used it in the Army all the time. I had CS grenades all the time. I used to booby trap them on FTX's. My Dad was an Ord specialist at FT. Knox and came home soaked in CS all the time. Guess I got used to it growing up. It surprised the DI's at Benning, too. Didn't have an effect on me at the gas chamber, either. I stayed in there longer than any other trainee without my mask on. Each DI in the chamber stopped me and shook my hand. One saluted me. It made my eyes water a little, not much. The grenades are kind of weak. Heck, I lit off a CS can in the company AO one evening at FT Campbell in 1984. I thought it was a smoke. I had both. I got in a little trouble for that one...... Live and learn. |

Don't get me wrong. OC works on most people. Not everybody. It doesn't affect everybody the same way. I wouldn't rely on it as my only defense. And I don't. In civilian life I carry my P220, 3 spare mags, and Emerson CQC7, a Kubaton on my keys, a 21" ASP and a GG&G Alt Force Block on my Surefire Z2. These things go with me everywhere. Hell, they are within arms reach or on my belt 24/7. Chemical munitions does have it's limitations. But, I'm glad the LE community has options other than lethal force. I wanted to add that I got my balls back in the divorce settlement. The ex wanted them but the judge stood up for me. And I don't need a cart to haul them around. Thanks for the concern, though. |
