Quoted: Absolutely awesome performance. This is becoming increasingly common of late. Three perfect games in one year? Two (actually three) perfect games in 2010. I wonder if we may be entering a new Golden Era of pitching in Major League Baseball. Which is incredibly boring to watch. Roided out lunkheads made the game fun to watch. |

The game is painfully slow. 98% percent of the people involved are either standing in a field doing nothing or sitting down. pitch commercial pitch foul pitch ball commercial fuck |

I understand that sentiment, and admittedly it isn't quite as thrilling as when every game was a home run derby, but I also think low scoring games makes teams resort to small ball tactics––which I think is more interesting and intense. When every at-bat can completely change the outcome of the game, then I think that is exciting. I suspect great pitching will lead to better hitters, as well. |

I get that part but it still so bleeding slow coupled with commercials its worse. Hockey wisened up and said people like a fluid game with some points. So they made goalie pads smaller and speed up the game by tweaking the rules. Now it's more popular and even more fun to watch. The players adapted and it's getting bigger. |
I've been glued to my stereo for the last few hours. If you don't like my sport, then you don't have to listen/watch/pay attention.
It got me looking up past perfect games and I was pretty surprised to learn about the first one this year (I also heard Matt Cain's perfect game so I knew about one already). Going back through the lists there were some incredible games thrown. Addie Joss' game, for example, was downright scary. We'll have to see over the next few years, how this trend goes. |

Besides, low-scoring games tend to be considerably shorter. King Felix's game today was about 2:20, where a normal game is around 3 hours, more or less. |
