Why is the stock so deep? Are there internals inside the lower area of the buttstock so the depth is needed, or is it ment to double as a canoe paddle?

I picked up one of the MSAR carbines when the prices bottomed out on them a few years ago. Mine is a 4th gen rifle and I've never had any problems with it.

I have one of the ones that uses ar mags. No issues with it at all like the horror stories of older models. I love it and I feel the balance is good, but the trigger could be better
