i am in need of a new taclight and am considering the g3r rechargeable. anyone have any experience with these. And just for the record i DO NOT want a surefire. |

I haven't heard many complaints. www.candlepowerforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php Have fun |

The Pila units are decent. I would rather have a Surefire due to warranty, reliability, etc. The Pila's have had some issues as far as relaibility, from what I have heard/seen in a friends light. Count on SEVERAL months to get it back or a new one if something does go bad. These are basically the WolfEyes lights rebadged. Made somewhere in Asia, don't remember where. Only recently were you able to get them from a retailer in the US. Just posing a question... Why don't you want a Surefire? |

just added to say WTF?! www.smokesign.com/su8nxconiref.html are these assholes smocking crack? |
| They seem nice for the price. I'd get the "GL" models with the LEDS in the rear since for normal use, you will be using the LED's much more often at night and the batteries will last longer. 130 lumens is too bright for normal usage like looking at the floor of you car for something whiledriving at night. |
Easy to cover the "Free Shipping" that way. |
from what i can find the led caps are available seperately as well. the big problem is they are only water resistant not waterproof. this will primarily be a general use outdoor and weapon light. i ordered the g3 rechargable last night. hopefully it will be a good light. |

Check out the Nightcutter line. I have an M60L and I'd put it up against a Surefire L4 any day of the week. It has a hand selected 5W Luxeon LED and the machining is top notch. Plus, you get a couple of lenses (narrow and wide), a reflector assy. (late availability, mine is on its way), 2 bezels ("strike" and sheeple versions) and a cool lanyard. Plus, Nightcutter actually tests and lists the water resistance in their specs (unlike SF). Plus, I believe they're made in the USA (well, almost - Mass). ETA: I got mine much cheaper than list from The Martialist Chris |
