It's been 11 years since their last tour (albeit without Roger Waters).  I saw that 1994 show in Mass.  It was good.

I heard recently that David Gilmour said that  there isn't enough money in the World to make him want to tour again.

No more Floyd.

=0(

ETA:  I did see the "Australian Pink Floyd Show" last year in Manchester, NH.  It was awesome!  I recommend that you all see it, if it ever comes around again.

I saw the show in El Paso, TX that year.   Too bad there won't be anymore tours.

how does a pink floyd show work? do they just play albums straight through or what? not alot of their songs fit as "singles" IMHO after you hear them with the rest of the albums.

I happen to think The Wall is the best album ever made

A few years ago I saw Roger Waters.

They played mostly Pink Floyd stuff and it was excellent!!!

He played a few of his own stuff and it was...marginal.

I was at the Super Bowl of Rock series at Soldier Field in Chicago on June 19, 1977.  It was the Animals tour.  What a great event!

No, "Dark Side of the Moon" is, possibly, the best album ever.

Holds the record for the longest stint on the-I think-TopTen Album chart.

Thirteen YEARS in the top ten.

I have and like almost all of what they do.

And, IMHO, even if I include some of the jazz I listen to (some of it oozes sexuality) the BEST music to play "hide the salami" by is "Wish You Were Here".

In fact, it's cool, windy and rainy here tonight. I think I'll take a tall rum & coke out on the patio and fire up Dark Side of the Moon. New speakers (Sonys) for the outside stereo, ya know. They seem to need testing.

Listening to Animals, Dark Side and Meddle, in that order.  Tis fitting for rainy, foggy nights.

I saw them in 1987 and 1988.  Fantastic shows.

I brought my then future wife to the 1988 show.  Now, some don't believe in the concept of the "contact buzz", but damned near everyone around us was smoking the ganja and my wife is very sensitive to any kind of smoke.  So by the time intermission came around, she was pretty lit.  The band opens up the second half of the show with "One of These Days", and just as the bass starts thundering, this huge evil-looking pig with glowing eyes comes out from one on the eaves and moves across RFK stadium.  My wife grabs my arm and says in a panicked voice, "Please tell me you see a giant flying pig!"

I was very tempted to tell her, "Flying pig?  What in the world are you talking about?"

I saw that '88 show as well..in Mass...seems the Pig got too close to the crowd and they pulled it down and they tore it to shreds...I wasn't there at that one, was there the night before..someone got stabbed at that show as well...who would think such a thing would happen at a Pink Floyd show?

I dated a girl who told me about the Time concert she saw. They passed out sheets of Time blotter!

That's truly sad, too, since I blew off going to see them every chance I ever had.  I wonder if that also means no more studio work?  I guess it does since their label would make them tour to promote the album...

The Animals tour in 1977...there was a huge pig floating over the stadium with glowing red eyes!

When they played Sheep, some cannons exploded and hundreds of sheep floated down on top of us.

Damn!  Pass the bong!  It was a great time!

David Gilmour is apparently working on an album at this time, although it is unclear right now whether it will be a solo album or a Pink Floyd album.

Yep, I went to that one and the 1987 show at the Capital Center.  Sat in line overnight to get seats for that one (with my friends Browning 9mm in the small of my back.)  You don't want to be in PG County overnight unarmed.
