You are comparing apples to oranges.
I deal with enough of it on the car forums. 3.5 EcoBoost vs 5.0!!!!!!!!111 No, just no, stop it Put two turbos on a 5.0 and then get back to me when comparing it to a 3.5 EcoBoost Eta, It's like a 9 vs 45 debate but worse Eta2, I guess it's fine to compare them, just tired of it, it's like an oil debate, or crab vs efi, it gets nowhere. |

So what you're saying is there's no replacement for displacement?
Eta beat!! |

Putting 2 turbos on a 5.0 costs how much? Now YOU are comparing apples to oranges.

They are both options in the same truck. The F150 is the F150, you have two choices of engines when you buy that truck.
What makes that a difficult comparison? It's the most obvious comparison in the automotive world. |

It's the .45 vs. 9mm debate all over again... "Buuuuuut 9mm with quality JHP expands to more than .45 FMJ..."

Quoted: I'm talking about the specifics of engine design, screw the platform comparison for the moment. View Quote the purpose of the Ecoboost and the 5.0 are the same. To provide function and performance in the F150. So, you should compare the two motors to know which one does the job 'best' for the platform. Same with the mustang and anywhere else they are a valid comparison. |

Quoted: That's the entire purpose for the motor. To be functional in a platform. Why would you compare a diesel electric train engine to the ecoboost? They are completely separate platforms and purposes. the purpose of the Ecoboost and the 5.0 are the same. To provide function and performance in the F150. So, you should compare the two motors to know which one does the job 'best' for the platform. Same with the mustang and anywhere else they are a valid comparison. View Quote |

So, what about a supercharged engine? Apples to oranges to Pineapples?

So if we take the turbos off, is that like a peeled and sliced apple? What does the apple core translate to? this shit is getting complicated.

Quoted: The LS cars are still on the road. View Quote and for the record my FD was a beast of unknown magnitude for an RX7. I don't know how I never killed it but it kept going no matter how many drift events or races I did in the car. Granted it wasn't stock so it was a lot more reliable than than the factory motor. 3mm HD apex seals are a must. |
