We live in New York and my mother in law is in Florida.

I'm looking for software that will allow me to access her laptop computer from my desktop.

I'm hoping for something that will let me control the mouse and run programs while she watches on her end so we can teach her some basics.

I'm hoping for a free program, are there any out there that are good?

I use TeamViewer.

Also free and you can transfer files with it.

Easy to use. They just need to start a session, then give you the PIN and you have control.

Just make sure they are connected to the internet first.

We use GoToMyPc at work. It isn't free but it is reliable and secure. It is a Citrix service.   LogMeIn has a free version and some cool features. I've never had problems with either.
