I've had shingles before, thanks to stress. The doctor gave me an anti-viral pill and that cleared it up in a couple of weeks. For me, it wasn't bad. Now, I have heard from folks who got the shot that it really hurts afterwards. I've had single and double pneumonia, the double pneumonia being two years ago. It was rough, and I coughed for about four months afterwards. The coughing for the four months was so bad that I would briefly black out. I'll take the pneumonia shot! For tetanus boosters, I've had them several times and I'll take the shot. |

Do it! If you have any doubts, ask anyone who has had shingles or pneumonia. I got a Flu shot last week. Will it work? It depends on the variants that are just now emerging. It's always a crap shoot.I also plan on getting the COVID vaccine when it comes out. At my age, the result of a severe infection far outweigh the chances of any reaction. |

Aunt has had shingles after the two different shots. Worse each time and has had shingles three times. I get the tetanus shot because I mess with rusty ground and rust a lot. I quit getting flu and pneumonia shots because I kept getting sick from them. Last time I was sick for a damn month. |

I didn't get the pneumonia. There's some evidence that getting the shingles vaccine lowers the chances of getting Alzheimer's. That's a great side benefit but I got the shingles vax because I saw a sweet, wonderful, healthy lady get absolutely wrecked by a case of shingles. |

Its interesting, Ive had quite a few diabetics tell me they have to take the shot because theyre at higher risk . Many of them eat garbage , dont exercise, and continue with uncontrolled blood sugars . The interesting part is how fast those antibodies become glycated and essentially useless . That doesnt even acknowledge AGE/RAGE and increased inflammation leading to higher cortisol ...suppressing and misdirecting whats left of the immune system . Just some thoughts. |

I'm 70, I've never had a flu shot and last time I had the flu was 36 years ago. I don't think I had Chicken Pox as a child so there is no reason to get a shingles shot and I've never had pneumonia. I don't get tetanus shots unless I have a puncture wound can't remember the last time, decades ago though. I don't plan on getting any vaccines that I don't have to. |

The data actually shows vaccines do more harm to your health long term. https://www.thefocalpoints.com/p/hulscher-drops-explosive-vaccine As I told lawmakers, the main result was striking. After statistical adjustment for important baseline differences, vaccinated children had roughly a 2.5-times higher risk of developing a chronic health condition during follow-up. At 10 years, the Kaplan-Meier analysis estimated that 57% of vaccinated children versus 17% of completely unvaccinated children had developed at least one chronic condition. Then I opened our peer-reviewed reanalysis of the Henry Ford data and walked lawmakers through the raw numbers and crude proportions. |

Covid was a complete joke and we were lied to so horribly, I trust used car salesmen and lawyers more than anyone in the medical system. When vaccinations were becoming more widespread in the late 1800s doctors at the time were complaining about cancers they have never seen before! https://sashalatypova.substack.com/p/vaccines-all-injected-biologics-are In this post I am republishing a booklet written in 1892. Mass vaccination, especially of children and women, and laws mandating vaccines have begun in earnest in mid 1800’s. By the end of the century, it was recognized at least by some doctors that vaccines induce cancer which had already begun it’s unstoppable rise in “civilized” populations, in perfect correlation with increasing “access to modern medicine”. It really shouldn’t be that surprising, one of the vaccines in the OP was the shingles one that is made with Chinese hamster ovary cells. Injecting animal cells right into the body, who knows what the long term effects are? The polio vaccine was grown in monkey kidney cells and some of those cells contained SV40 which is a carcinogen causing some who got the polio vaccine to die of cancer. |

If actually having shingles does not give you protection from getting shingles again, how can a vaccine designed to cause an immune reaction to shingles protect you from shingles? |

Why do you think getting the shingles vaccine will give you protection but actually having shingles will not give you protection. Both produce an immune response that produces antibodies. The vaccine mimics the actual disease. If the actual disease immune response will not keep you from getting it again, how can the vaccine keep you from getting it again. I don't understand this. |

The new Shingles vaccines uses the AS01B adjuvant system, which is new. It can be read about here: The first link is about the combined system, the next 2 links are the 2 ingredients that make up the system which is in effect 2 adjuvants. https://gosset.ai/targets/as01b-adjuvant-system/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4874334/ https://www.creative-diagnostics.com/monophosphoryl-lipid-a-mpla.htm |

You already answered your own question. It's irrational and you know it. I don't know anything about the pneumonia vaccine, so I won't comment on that. I've had shingles and would do just about anything to avoid it again. It's terrible. TDAP has been around forever. Being anti-all vaccines is as retarded as taking every single shot without question. Use your critical thinking skills, be descerning, use logic not emotion. |
Your boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes you cheer
| Absolutely get the Tdap and shingles. I've had shingles and the shingles vax. The vaccine sucks, but nowhere near as bad as the shingles. Shingles can blind you or give you brain damage in bad cases. See Diane Fienstein. Tdap has been around a long time. Safe and effective. Pneumonia can kill you if you're old or have some underlying disease. Even if you are healthy, once you get pneumonia it tends to recur and recur. |

What is really going on here? https://www.cnbc.com/2026/05/05/fda-studies-covid-shingles-vaccines-safe.html FDA withdrew studies finding Covid and shingles vaccines were safe PUBLISHED TUE, MAY 5 20264:45 PM EDT In February, top FDA officials did not sign off on submitting study abstracts on Shingrix, a shingles vaccine, to a drug safety conference, the paper added. The HHS spokesperson told CNBC the recent studies were “withdrawn because the authors drew broad conclusions that were not supported by the underlying data.” “The FDA acted to protect the integrity of its scientific process and ensure that any work associated with the agency meets its high standards,” they added. When asked about the shingles vaccine research, the HHS spokesperson said the design of that study “fell outside the agency’s purview.” |

Same boat. Same age. Doc recommended the same set of shots. Asked Doc to prioritize them - response was the shingles vaccine. Asked about side effects. Doc’s reply: What are you doing for the next few days? Took the first of two doses. Beware. It knocked me on my ass for 12-24 hours w/ flu-like symptoms. |

You learn something new everyday! If you are injured by shingrix you aren’t compensated in the special vaccine court! https://www.greenlegalteam.com/vaccine-injury-faq/ The Vaccine Injury Table lists the following vaccines as included in the VICP: Tetanus toxoid vaccines (DTaP, DTP, DT, Td, or TT) Pertussis vaccines (DTP, DTaP, P, DTP-Hib) Measles, mumps and rubella vaccines (MMR, MM, MMRV) Vaccine Polio virus vaccine (OPV, IPV) Hepatitis A vaccine Hepatitis B vaccine Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib) Varicella Vaccine Rotavirus vaccine Pneumococcal conjugate vaccines Seasonal influenza (Flu Shot) Vaccine Meningococcal vaccines Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines Note: As of 5/2024 COVID-19 vaccines are not currently included in the Vaccine Injury Table and are therefore not included in the VICP. Is the Shingles (Shingrix) Vaccine Covered in the VICP? No. The shingles (Shingrix) vaccine is not covered by the VICP. The varicella (chicken pox) vaccine is covered though. Individuals who claim the shingles (Shingrix) vaccine is the cause of their injury would have to file a civil suit outside of the VICP. |
