Whats the best way to clean mineral deposits from pool tile?  Have tried the pumice stone but it takes a long time.  I dont want to try different cleaners looking for something to work and be throwing money away.   Ideas?

Picture of stain?

What is the finish of pool, Plaster [white lime stone and white cement], Diamond brite, Quartz, or Paint. The only sure way is muriatic acid poured out of a water can with stain wet with water so acid can flow. The strength of the acid my have to be strait or diluted with water. The only draw back is acid cleaning up the rest of the pool finish where you may want to empty pool and acid wash the whole pool. Make sure have load of Plus[PH up] to counter acid to chemistry of pool water.

Been burning finishes off pools for 32 years, I love the smell of acid in the damp morning air

Dont have pictures but its mostly the calcium deposits, especially at the small waterfall from the jacuzzi.  Its a plaster finish and I have thought of draining it and cleaning the inside.

I had thought of acid and was thinking of some diluted acid sprayed by a garden type sprayer onto the tile.  Not a fine mist that will fly up but a stream with not too much pressure to avoid splattering, think this will work?

I figure since you use acid to change the ph level it should be ok, dont want to try CLR or other cleaners that may contaminate the water.

3M makes a product called bristle disc that has several different methods of attachments to various rotary power tools.  A battery or pneumatic tool would be suggested for use around a pool.  The yellow disc is the correct consistency for removing scale from the waterline around pools and professionals use them for exactly that.  The discs are made up of various hardness of Skotchbrite, ranging from (looks like they changed their color scale)  You need the 120 grit. edit

The brown discs will remove paint down to bare metal on a car without damaging the metal, but it appears they may have changed the 80 grit discs to white......
