Sorry to hear this, and this isnt gonna help, but when I read that I laughed, Its a sign.. show alligence HERE and the car god will be on your side

But I was reading that In the future your thinking about getting Air tools... You could look into getting Rock Sliders built, because they look So much better, actually DO something, and that is a good way to put a Air Connection under your truck on both sides and protect them...

heres an example of a slider that I mean

Longer of course

Then you can Plump for an Air Hook up on Both sides of your truck behind it to protect from getting banged

Just throwing stuff out there.. I like the slider idea because I want to get some but not plum for air

How do those sliders mount to the frame?  Any pics?  Thanks.

CSM I got TONS of pics hehe I hope to get me some MEtal and cutting all the pieces and then getting someone to weld em for me

THIS is the design I want to use.. I really like the Rectangler stock rather then square..

Now if you built some for your Ram, youd prob want a couple more attaching points.. and you just have to MEasure and look for Clear paths for the bars..

and heres the thread I got it from

I am thinking of doing something similar, but I am worried about breaking the frame with the torsional load, or perhaps by tearing the bolts out of the frame.  I am thinking about tying the right and left together with numerous small cross members.

I can dig some pics of these things being used I mean Whole trucks weight against them

but then again I get it cuz yours would be Far longer and more of a chance... but if its Tucked up against the truck you shouldnt have much problem.. Ill look later for pics.

eta. Some guys Bolt AND weld them down.. you shouldnt have any problem.. and if you think you will use Thicker sidewall stock for connectors

I posted this in the your SF thread but it looks like this one has a little more activity.

I just recently went with the York engine driven setup. I have a 98.5 Dodge with the Cummins 24 valve engine. I bought the bracket kit from Kilby Enterprises and came up with the compressor, pulley, air drier, tank, and assorted fittings myself. Very happy with it. Took a lot more "engineering" than I anticipated tho. (not the bracket kit, but the lines, switch, air drier, ect.)

Looking back, the Co2 seems much easier. Maybe even cheaper. I do however like the idea of "making" my own air. I think personal preference will drive your decision.

I don't have any experience with the Co2 system so I can't comment on it, but I know the York system works for me.

I also have an ARB locker and did have the ARB compressor for a long time. They have a reputation for being tough as hell but I was never real comfortable with using that small of a compressor to air up four 35" tires. I did do it once and it took almost 45 minutes to get all four tires from about 15psi to 40psi. I actually had a block of ice sitting on the compressor motor to try to keep it cool. It ran the whole time non-stop.
Just takes too long and I was worried about it burnig up. Still works fine today. Altho not in my truck.

I'll try to get some numbers together sometime this week. Total cost I have into it. Also, I'll do a 10psi to 40psi time test. I work for a heavy truck dealer so my total investment is probably a bit on the lower side of what a non-employee might pay.

I wanted to get some pictures during instalation but when I get goin on something its hard for me to remember to stop and take pics. I only have so much brain power ya know h

but I guess tommorw Ill Delete my posts and make a new one...

Sorry about the hijack.  I just thought it would be a post or two .

Harbor Freight should take it back or give you a new one if it has been 30 days since the purchase.

I wonder if the humidity in your area compared to mine, was enough to cause an overheat of the compressor.  That may be what caused the failure.  As I said, I have not broken mine.  Mine does get very hot, but it still works.
