Just got these finished.
Last son will bridge to the Troop on Saturday. 6 of his friends are joining with him. 1 of the Den members is giving it up because the family is getting out of Scouts. We still may salvage them. Will have to see. Attached File Older brother gets a special Arrow for helping out with the ceremonies for the last 5 years. It's a version of our OA Chapter Spirit of the Arrow token. Attached File May post some pics of the boys in their regalia after the ceremony on Saturday. What do you have that puts Boy Scouts in a good light? ETA: fixed pic orientation.

I still have my arrow of light and still remember and know the man that presented it to me.
Being LDS we were a LDS troop & met on wednesday nights for scouts and then the same group ment on sundays at church so our 'troop' was extremely tight. I wouldnt trade my BSA experiences for anything. I had so much fun and have dontated my time as an adult to our troop/ward. My scouts are more trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent than ANY boys their age. |

Learned how to shoot @ Scout camp in 1976 I learned how to shoot at Scout camp in 1998. I'm a proud Eagle Scout. Learned a lot of valuable life skills in scouting. It's definitely where my love for the outdoors comes from. I enjoyed backpacking in scouts and just got back into it this past year. I'm angry I stopped after scouts until then. Regardless of the organization's politics, I think the bigger question is how does the troop your kids are going to do things. I was in a good troop and it helped me become the man I am today. |

I Was invited to a Cub scout meeting to speak to the pack of wolf cubs about the time I spent in the Marines, My deployment to Iraq, and what it meant to me to serve our country. These young men were very well behaved and asked excellent questions. I had a great time representing the United States Marine Corps. The scout master even let be bring in my m16a4 clone in to show the boys. They were pretty excited to see some pics and look at a few of the trinkets I have kept after I EAS'd.
ETA: I earned Eagle Scout in 2004, and Ive got a Wolf Cub Scout, and A Webelo at home. Attached File |
My dad died when I was 8, Scouting was an extremely positive influence in my development into manhood. Scout oath is on my keychain. Now 70 yo & still using Scout skills & Christian values (can tie a mean variety of knots )... I grieve the destruction of this once fine & noble organization...

My Parents were both involved as leaders. They were both Awarded the Silver Beaver at the Diocese Cathedral during a ceremonial Mass conducted by the Arch Bishop. That was years ago. After one summer camp, a International Boy Scout Leader from Israel came home with us and stayed for a week, He was a real interesting man. Israeli Military, combat veteran, and really cool. We are Catholic, Mom and Dad taught us that Religion does not determine who or what you are, You define yourself.
Pretty sure Danny was Mossad, just from the conversations I remember and Dad and Moms thoughts on it. Sadly, they are gone, as is the Old Boy Scouts. |

As a long time volunteer Boy Scout leader, I salute those dads who take the time to be involved in their son's lives.
I'm confident it won't be forgotten by them as they grow up into the men their fathers are. I also condemn to hell the corrupt paid staffers either at the district or the national level. To me they have always been useless and contributed nothing to the programs I ran. If anything they just made more work for us while making the whole enterprise venerable to the corporate campaign the left and the militant gays ran. |

I'm not going to judge the kids by the idiots running the organization at the top.
I am proud to be an Eagle Scout. If I had a boy, I would encourage him to be a Scout. If I were involved with a Pack or Troop that had an issue with a pervert leader (as the BSA is endorsing) then I would change to another, and inform the local Council why I'm doing so. I still believe in the basic principles that the BSA was founded upon. |
| My youngest crosses over to Boy Scouts March 3. I have been a den leader, assistant scoutmaster, headed to Philmont this summer then a week off before regular Scout camp. Lots of these kids have no male role model at home. Scouts gives me a chance to do something good for them that hopefully will help them and last with them. Plus I enjoy it. Eagle Scout here. The troop sets the tone. My troop is very outdoor oriented. Conservative, into hiking and shooting. I understand that some troops are odd. I can't help them all. |
