| I run 4 computers on my home network. 2 run IE8, 1 (mine) is Google Chrome and the 4th is an Apple. Both PC's running IE8 crashed so bad that they wouldn't even boot up. I had to run the system recovery disc to get them started again. My computer and the 2 running IE8 are Identical Toshiba Laptops. I'm also using McAfee antivirus software that is up to date and has been very reliable for the 5 yrs I've been using it. I did a virus scan on one (1 crashed first and I didn't pay too much attention to what the trojans were that were removed but it was one of those "your infected, download such and such software to remove" types. While I was finishing the first, the second one was turned on and had the same problem. Heads up if you are using IE8. I am switching the two to chrome. |

Quoted: You run IE?!?!?!?!? I sure hope it's only for a work VPN... ETA: you run McAfee?!?!?!?!?!!! I switched to Chrome a while ago for my PC, others were less open to change. "Were" being the key phrase. Until now, I had never had a problem with McAfee. I ran Norton years ago and that was horrible ETA Lately my dislike for PC's has been growing. I have used my daughters Apple a few times and I kind of like it. I'm getting close to needing to upgrade computers and running Vista is not going to be an option

I have a secure network, How did it infect only the 2 pc's with IE8 and not the Chrome. Plus I'm sure my wife and son who are the other users don't visit the same sites. Serious question, anyone have an idea how this happened? Quoted: thats not an IE8 attack. thats malware from a website you visited. ie8 sucks ass took me about one day to dump it and go back to ie7. chrome blows. |
