| Can you use the post 911 as a proof of income. I want to trade in my car to reduce my payments a month. However, I'm just in school and not working besides the reserves. If the dealership needs proof of income, can I claim the post 911 gi bill? |

I don't see why not....however, they may want proof of actual payments from prior months. How do I do that? Bring in bank statements? Or can I get receipts somewhere? I would think bank statements would be ok, maybe the certifying letter(s) that the VA sends you as well. When I got my car, I just told the salesman/finance dept. that I'd be getting XXX/mo from the GI bill and that I got XXX/mo from being in the Guard.....I ended up financing with a local credit union so it didn't really matter but the dealership was ok with my word on what I would be getting a month. I would assume, however, that each dealer is different.
