I think those numbers are kind of sad. How is it that there aren't at least enough guns for every person in the country? when you think about how many each of us on here own that means that there are a ton of people without them. That's a real downer.

Lul

Or what

We leave in an Orwellian nightmare.    Our government spies on us at levels that would make the Stazi blush.  Our political system is beyond broken.  We are completely unmoored from the Constitution.

But we do produce some great porn, awesome sports, and nice guns.

America is great.

The federal government is fucked up beyond repair.

There are A LOT of people in this country that I'd rather didn't own a gun.

It's okay.  The dipshits without a single gun are anathema to us.  Everyone we care about has guns or we will supply them.

Damn y'all...

Bringin' me down with the negativity.

This country has seen worse.  Every generation has its trials.  Administrations come and go, nothing new.
If America doesn't survive, then we have no one to blame but ourselves.

So be it.

It's the truth.  Free your mind from a life's worth of propaganda.  Question every thing.

Are you talking about the Civil War?    The Great Depression?    WWII?

This Administration?

You better start educating yourself.

Nearly as many FFLs as gas stations?  That seems questionable

Yeah, my view is we've never seen an internal threat of this magnitude simultaneously across our culture, economic system and Constitutional protections like we're facing now.  The external threats have been much greater at times, and as a nation we've excelled in dealing with those.  But this is different.  I agree we have no one to blame but ourselves, but the fight we're in for if the nation is to survive as originally founded will be unlike anything we've ever contemplated.

Yes, those kind of calamities, what else?
Cold War and red scare in the '50's, the 60's with Viet Nam and civil rights.  A total funk in the '70's.  Not too bad in the 80's and 90's,
9-11 and the WOT, the great recession in the 00's,
Administration? Seems like all people talk about is Obama, yep he's a shitty one, right up there in the pantheon of assholes.  But he will be gone too.
We survived the Clinton, the Johnson, the Carter admins.  All things in time shall pass.

Exactly what do I need to educate myself on?

Just to set the record straight.
The title of the post was rhetorical in nature.

I had no intention of starting a political discussion on the ruination of the late great U.S. of A.
It was my 1776th post, get it?  Ain't America grand, get it?
We have more guns than damn near the rest of the world combined, get it?
That IS great.

This is a website dedicated to bringing together people of common passion, GUN OWNERSHIP!
I thought these figures were interesting and others may enjoy or like to discuss them.
I even added a disclaimer saying I did not vouch for the veracity of the statistics.

I did not expect the questioning of my education, be it political, historical, animal, vegetable or mineral.

I should have fucking known better than to post in GD.

Economics.      Debt and Deficit spending.    Entitlements.

The other bumps in our history don't compare.   Debt is forever.

Obama?   Please.   Don't confuse the Symptom with the Illness.

How old are you?    You sound kinda young.     The future generations are thoroughly well fucked, and all the optimism and guns in the world won't change it.
