My Springfield Armory mil-spec 1911-A1.

I've added the zerbawood grips, hex grip screws, a Wilson Combat trigger and changed out the recoil spring.

Darn (free) tripod.com web site won't let me post pictures here.

Wow!
That must've been expensive for a gun that only looks like a little red [red]X[/red]

Damn Paul--I like those grips...
Where did you get Checkered Zebrawood?
Is it cut or pressed?

The grips are Kim Ahrends and are cut with 18 lpi checkering. $36 from Brownells.

I've changed out the trigger for a Wilson Combat one. I think I'm going to stop on this pistol for awhile. Once I'm no longer homeless I'll send it off to have some night sights milled into the slide.

Paul, great to see a serious pistol around here now, & then. I love SIGs, & trust Glocks, but nothing carries (& disappears) quite like a 1911.
BTW, that's a good looking gun!

Did hex head screws come with (6-32?) inserts?
Are they the Ed Brown ones (from Brownells too)?

My 1911 is a stock Kimber Custom Target, exactly as pictured above.  :)

The grip screws are Wilson Combat 0.150"-50.

Only on a 1911 is the screw bushing a topic of converation! Gotta' love it.

Kimber Ultra Carry and Custom Target.  Both pistols are factory stock except for the short trigger, steel main spring housing and Cocobolo grip.

Nice gun, Paul.  Might as well fit a Wilson high hump beavertail and a narrow thumb safety to it and call it quits (for now)!
