Anybody have any experience with these? I don't have room for a set of hex dumbbells in my small workout space so I'm seriously thinking of making an investment in these. The particular set I'm looking at is expandable to 85 lbs each.

Thoughts?

I bought mine for the same reson your looking to buy..room. I can shove mine into a corner and nobody will even notice them. You can also get the set that will expand to (I belive) 150lbs. each. Good luck in you purchase they are expensive but worth it. Bit of advice for you and others reading this stay away from the bowblex version they are partially made of plastic and you know what happens when you drop plastic to hard...your out 300 bucks.

I have a set and have never been dissapointed. I would recommend getting the stand that fit's them. It makes selecting the weight easier and you don't have to get them up off the floor. They are a quality item.

We had a thread on them in the last 30 days.  You cant drop em and since you put your hand in the box to get to the grip it bumps your wrist and limits range of motion.  Its a not a bad product if space is more of a concern than durability and you dont lift to failure.

I try to never drop dumbells. It's frowned upon at my gym because they bounce quite a bit on the rubberized floor and could land on someones foot. I would be in big trouble if I dropped  em at home!!!
