Any other Powerstroke drivers out there?

Bought mine new in Oct '99 and just turned 104k.  Runs like a champ with it's 6th birthday coming up in a few days.  Found a really good site called TheDieselStop.com that caters to us.

So far, all I've done is add a 3-1/2" downpipe from the turbo replacing the stock 3" downpipe, and I removed the stock air filter box and replaced it with a Baldwin PA-2818.  Later this week I'll use the SuperChips tuner and bump it up 60hp and 110ftlbs of torque.  That should give me 300hp and 650ftlbs.  I loaded the program for an hour or so and it was a blast.  Then my friend wanted it back so we off-loaded it but I'm buying it from him Thursday.

So, who else drives them and what have you done to them?

05 F250 here.

Only 2900 miles on it, so....

It's stock, but I think Ill go with a cat back exhaust and either the new Edge Platinum or the SCT.

Love it so far.

I have worked on a lot of them. Good motor, can get a decent amount of power out of them.

I have been trying real hard to find a F-350 SRW 4x4 to replace my Chevy, but am being real picky, so finding the right one has been hard so far.

I am on my third Powerstroke - 2004 King Ranch F250 crew cab short bed 4X4 with the 6.0 with all the bells and whistles.  No mods done as the truck is still under warranty.  I love it!

Previous trucks were 1999 F350 XLT Extended Cab long bed 4X4 with 7.3 and 2002 F350 XLT Extended Cab long bed 4X4 with 7.3.  Had a SCMT on the 2002 and it made a BIG difference even with the 60hp tune.  They were all very good trucks with no major issues that were not addressed under warranty.

+1 on the Dieselstop.  Have been a member there since 1999 when I joined the Powerstroke owners club.

I have an '04 FX4 Crew Cab. Pretty much the standard Texas truck. 50K, been back to the dealer for recalls. Only complaint so far has been the POS EGR valve that had to be replaced.

Well, this evening I uploaded the Superchips 1700 program for 60hp and 110ftlbs of torque.  Needless to say, the truck really hauls a$$.  What has amazed me the most so far is the fact that on cruise at 65, it is literely effortless for the truck to maintain that speed regardless of the inclines/hills in the roads.

It literally is a new truck with the chip upgrade, airfilter upgrade and downpipe upgrade.

Oh, and all for $135.

You liked the 60hp you should try the Edge Juice with Attitude. I drive my nephews 03 with the 6.0 and it will run like hell. I'm still driving a 96 F350 SRW 4X4 with a 60hp chip, bigger downpipe, bigger exhaust, pillar gauges, and a two stage propane system. With 4:10 gears and either the 35" summer tires or the 38" winter tires it pulls anything I hook to no problem. The only bad problems were frying the under valve cover wiring harnesses to the injectors and glow-plugs and part of the main harness on one side. I strill drove 35 miles on only the left bank of cyliders. I think my next truck will be a Dodge quad cab with the Cummins because they do have more room to work on them and they are cheaper and easier to get hp from. The Dieselstop has gone to shit lately. I hadn't visited for several months until I needed the wiring part numbers and were the best place to buy them was and some asshole deleted the thread because he said it should have been in the wanted/for sale section. How the fuck will it get seen there or any replies of help. I went and bought a program from the internet and downloaded to my laptop that plugs into the OBD port for about $120 cables included that saves a lot of money at OBD-II.com I think.

03 F250 SC FX4 with the 7.3 turbo. I installed a complete 4" turbo back exhaust, K&N filter and a Diablo tuner.  I can get just over 600 miles to a tank cruising @ 75.  Awesome!

2003 F-350 7.3L Powerstroke. Best truck I've ever owned.

You guys must have early '03s. We can thank Tier 1 emissions restrictions for the 6.0, and all it's related EGR valve issues.  Tier 2 goes into effect mid-'07, and reliable buzz is the new 6.4L will have four EGR valves. With all the headaches they've had fielding the 6.0, I can only imagine how bad it'll be for the 6.4.

Before I got to 50K, the EGR valve was toast. Truck ran like crap. Bucked, surged, was way down on power, and smoked like a James Bond getaway car. It's been fixed, and runs well - for now. I think EGR valves and diesels are a bad idea, but I just have my own experience to go on. Do a search on Ford Truck Enthusiasts on EGR valves, you'll have a day's worth of reading.

I need a diesel truck for bulletproof reliability. I don't need a hotrod truck. I have a vehicle for that itch. See the "My Porsche" thread for a pic of it. Anyways, I've been a little disappointed with the 6.0. We've run several 7.3L E350 vans at work, and they were (are) as bulletproof  as it gets.

'01, F250, extra cab, 4x4, auto tranny, 90K on it. I love this truck.

The only changes that I made; replacement of the T-Stat with 203 degree, replaced the T-Stat Housing with an aftermarket aluminum housing, replaced the glow plug relay with the Stancor relay.

I was getting 18.5mpg highway until I upped the temp as recomended. I got 19.8 on my last long trip, about 750 miles. The truck gets about 13 mpg with my 7k lbs trailer.

How are your trannies holding out? From what I read, it is a matter of time before the stock tranny fails with heavy towing.

'05,6.0,F250 CC,8",4X$.So far so good, but would have rather had the 7.3.
6.0 has plenty of go,but I HOPE the longevity is there.
Just had a horse dropped off here from N Dakota this evening.Guy has a '99 Dodge,Cummins with 750K on it! Has had auto trans issues, and grenaded the Tcase, but that's still impressive.I love the Cummins, but no so big on the wrapper!
