| So I went to the gun range today and I get back home and see a fucking prairie dog in my drive way. I kind of got excited for a minute before my friend stopped me from getting my gun and shooting it. It was for good reason though; I live in the stupid city limits. So my next option was ROCKS! I live on the 16th hole of a golf course and there were 3 golfers in the tee box watching me stone this prairie dog to death!!! All the while my friend was laughing his ass off at the site of me stoning a prairie dog and the shear "WTF is going on" look on these golfers faces!!!! |

+1. Rocks on the driveway... PFFFFTTTT! My cousin and I, once a long time ago... spent an afternoon shooting PD's in NM (on his grazing land, varmint control...). We had a cooler of beer between us in the truck, and my cousin (leftie) was shooting his 444 Marlin, because it didn't get enough of a workout... I was shooting his wife's 30/06 from the passenger side. Let me just say that I in no way endorse, suggest, or sanction - drinking and shooting, shooting from a vehicle, or riding anywhere with my cousin. Hella fun though. I imagine we were just a mishap away from a Darwin Award... The PD's got smart and ducked in their holes. With the heavy bullets, you just aim an inch into the dirt mound and drag them on out. Just sayin'. |

Anyone else go fishing for PD's??? I used to take some veggies and fruit and put it outside of their little hole. Take some 30lbs test line and make a slip knot, then put it at the opening of the hole. Wait for PD to come out and yank the line hard once the PD is within the loop. Hold on and go fishin' for PD!!!!!
As for the OP, I say it's a good shoot stoning.

Oh thats funny. LOL I just went on a p-dog hunt last weekend in western KS. Four of us killed over 1000 in 3 days. My friend once killed a rabbit with a half brick. A friend of mine once killed a squirrel with a walnut. We were out on the last day of squirrel season and on the walk back he told me he was bummed since at 99 he was one short of killing an even hundred that season. Just at that moment a walnut drops from the tree we were passing under nearly hitting his head. We look up and saw the squirrel that had dropped it. My buddy leans over, picks up the walnut. and in a perfect shot nails the little tree shark knocking it off the limb. He looks over at me with a grin and says "100". |
