On Thursday night, my sisters boyfriend Danny was struck head-on by a drunk driver. The road was a 45mph road, but I'm not sure how fast either person was going. He was ejected through the windshield (no seatbelt), and he was not breathing when the paramedics arrived. He was resussitated (sp?) and incubated in the field. He is currently in critical condition in the ICU. He is comatose with swelling in his brain and a broken neck and back, and he is on a ventilator to keep him breathing. The doctors are worried about brain damage at this point. He saved my sisters life a few weeks back, and I am extremely grateful for that. He's a good man that has spent his life trying to help people. He is a doctor himself, working his way up to a trauma surgeon. Prayers for Danny and my sister both would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.  -Cody ETA: Danny's parents live in Italy. His mother just got out of te hospital with a heart condition and is not fit for flying, I believe.. so I'm sure it's especially hard on them. Prayers for them would be great as well!! |
