Now is the time to panic buy so what do you guys suggest? Uppers, lowers, parts kits, ammo and mags?
Or does it make sense to buy AKs? What are you guys pre panic buying? |

Why Silver? This thread is about to get interesting. Don't get me wrong I have a small stash of silver I bought back in the 90's but I don't understand the value of silver. Except for manufacturing and making jewelry what good is it? |

Ammo, always ammo. I think you are right. This. Ammo is GTG. I believe the next ban, if there is one, will not allow transfers of weapons/lowers/hi cap magazines to anyone else (except to Uncle Sugar for this disposal.) |

Why Silver? This thread is about to get interesting. As well as gold, it's a hedge againt inflation, worth something anywhere in the world and in case of the U.S. dollar collapse. It won't make money like stocks will, but it is insurance. Mags, ammo, lowers, boltcarriers, food, water, tools, other consumible items. Diversify. |

I agree. Learn to reload, get the equipment and the dies you need. Get the stash laid in. Be ready. Save your brass, even if don't reload that caliber right away. Then of course start a debate about wet vs. dry tumbling.
Silver? Buy low, sell high. I think it's a bit low right now, so I buy rounds. I know if the shit really hits the fan a normally important metal may seem an essentially useless metal. Get a decent stash of disposable lighters for barter. I can make soap but I always think about some better store-able soap. |

Quoted: As I recall, bolt carrier assemblies were the difficult pieces to acquire last go 'round. There was a pretty good run on mags of any type too. I made a killing on a BCM BCG and a LPK the last go around. Bought them as a bday gift for my brother, but with the panic, he couldn't even come close to building a rifle. Gave him the profits and he bought a pistol, with cash left over to fund his build down the road. |

Neckbearding ammo is a decent hobby then. Quoted:

Why are we panic buying exactly? I do it because I don't do drugs or drink booze so a guys gotta do something. Neckbearding ammo is a decent hobby then. Last go around I sold to family and friends who laughed at stocking up. I didn't make any profit. |

At this moment I don't see the need to panic buy but I am back to my restocking mode of mind set.
I ordered a case of 9mm ammo after Obama's speech right after the church shooting because as usual he could not get through the talk without mentioning gun control and this guy is definitely going to try some more of his shit before he leaves office. I was in an Academy yesterday with a nice fresh $50 gift card as a Fathers day present and was stunned at the amount of ammo in all sorts of calibers lining the aisle. And at good pricing too. Strangely enough there was a middle age couple (man and woman) who were somewhat arguing because the guy was getting a few boxes and the wife was saying he just bought some at the gun show last week. His reply to her was he has not seen so much ammo in all calbers in a long time and was buying it now!! I think he gets it too. I bought as stock two boxes of WWB USA 9mm JHP 50 round box @ $21.99 a box and another Winchester Defend 147 gr. HP 20 box count @ $21.99. And for a while each paycheck I am dedicating $50 for ammo or magazines. |
