Just finished watching "Predators" on on demand. Was pretty decent. I almost called bullshit weapon on Adrian Brody's gun but it turns out it is a real full auto shot gun. I had never heard of it and of course now I do want! It did look stupid in the movie though.

AA12

You could hang a small car from that light mount.

Yeah I thought it was watchable.  Topher Grace's character or however you spell his name was lame though.  I'm so sure the predators would get a real thrill out of hunting him in the jungle

It was better than I expected, but still not very good. I liked Laurence Fisburne's character the best.

You can't buy the AA12. The ATF classified it as a destructive device and it's a no-go.

Well it's capable of FA, so its a no go.

Domestic DDs are still legal with a tax stamp aren't they?

Too bad he wasn't sporting a new Kel Tec KSG. Talk about consumer demand going through the roof!

I own it on Blu Ray.

Here is where the movie went full retard for me:

A.  They decide after they escape from their probe of the Predator hunting camp that they will ambush the Predators by making it look as though they have set up a defensive perimeter, draw them into a choke point, and with overlapping fields of fire engage them.  Sounded like a fairly decent plan, but then the position they are in doesn't appear to be a choke point.  They put no effort into concealing themselves even after IDF chick who somehow knew about the Predators and kept it to herself for awhile tells them Arnold defeated their thermal vision by covering himself in mudd.  They just sort of squat around until they run into Laurence Fishburne's character.

B. Laurence Fishburne's Alien hidout was pretty obvious.  I don't see how he operates the power in that alien machine without generating heat that the Predators would detect.  Even assuming it has some type of shielding that masks the heat necessary to generate power or uses some weird heatless power source you'd think that would be one of the areas the Predators would have checked long before they show up after Fishburne starts the fire. Basically, I didn't see the need at all for Fishburne's character.  They sort of pull in his character to give you a brief rundown of the different Predator clans, but that's just a lazy plot device if you ask me.

I also understand the need to top the previous films by having three "Super Predators," instead of just one like the original.  However, the original Predator took out a Special Force Team and then Arnold's Black Ops Team by itself with little trouble up until Arnold.  So I'm suppose to buy that a group of strangers are going to defeat three "Super Predators" on their turf?  Nope.

Look, if they want a good Predator movie make it one Predator and set it in a modern day conflict of Afghanistan or Iraq or somewhere in the Middle East. Heat and Conflict is what we're told the Predators are drawn to and in I personally think it would be bad ass to see a more "realistic" and modern view on the old theme/formula.

Agree, the predators are going down the same road as stormtroopers.  Bad ass in the beginning and taken out by Ewoks, (freaking little chipmunks) in the end.

I thought it was pretty good. I tend to look past the flaws the first time and just enjoy it. The second time around, I will say "WTF, why did they do that" etc.

I liked the kid who plays eric forman in "That 70's Show" (Topher Grace). Total suprise in the end if you ask me. I liked how they used him for bait too to lure the last one in.

The AA12 is overrated, and as you now know, unavailable.  Get a Saiga-12!

Should have never even been a franchise. The first Predator was the only good one.

Plus, how lazy are these Predators?

They're hunting at a game preserve where the game is dropped in for them. So it's more like the rich Predators who are there for a weekend hunt than the hardcore Predators that actually make the trip to Earth.

So how these Predators are "Super Preadators" is beyond me.

So the new predators are actually Fudd-Predators.....

"No one needs more than a one-shot shoulder-mounted blaster for hunting purposes!"

.....and they even want it to be pump-action.  Semi-auto is uncalled for!
