| I am really not prepared I have an ar shotgun, pistol, and few deer rifles. I have nothing to carry my magazines , helmet or any armor protection and survival foods. What do most people really have to fight and wait things out. |

I'll do a serious response -
At least - A GO* bag, loaded mags in a carrier (chest or belt) and a clean rifle that you are proficient with. Minimalistic, fairly cheap (Just a few MRE's, clothes, water, a way to start a fire, ammo in the GO* bag) and you can grab it all in 3 minutes and get to a rally point. ** GO = Get Out. a simple backpack that I can live out of for 72 hours. With a few days notice I would load my trunk with more water, MRE's, ammo, camping supplies, hell anything I could think of. ETA: buy junk silver or small grams or at least small things of value so you can barter for gear and ammo down the road. |

| Firearms and the like are actually pretty low on the list. If you get into regular gunfights in a SHTF you're doing something very wrong and wont last long. Water, food, sanitation, low profile are all before you worry much about combat capabilities. Gun stuff is a helluva lot more fun to buy and plan tho. |

| Apparently I am a douche for posting shit. I haven't been involved I here much. Why turn away newcomers; not that I'm going away. Most of general people concerned look for answers. I see tons of membership about jointing the NRA topics and yes I am a member but feel stupid posting here. Guess that is what the search function is for. To me we all need to stand together instead of criticism on people with same intentions. Rag on me if you want but without newcomers out rights will disappear without a fight. |

Try starting off with something besides a "what gear do I need to go to war with the gub'ment" thread and people will probably take you a bit more seriously.

| I have 2 cans of spam and a 5lb bag of rice. Should be able to make it on that for a few months. Firearms wise I have a 12 gauge with birdshot. That is the best round for most four legged and two legged critters. I will drink my own pee if I run out of nu grape. |
