So I finally Googled why I can't read shit with my contact in or glasses on. I no like. |
|
fucking sucks, it does.
I have a bunch of cheapo magnifiers from Costco, like 3 pair for under 20 bucks, stashed everywhere. I also have several pair of really nice bifocals with no prescription on top, magnifier on the bottom. They are awesome, and allow me to wear my regular contacts and look good too. I had them made by my local optician, but instead of the standard bifocal, which has the straight cut line at the middle of the lens, he made them with a semi-circle cut, straight edge at the bottom of the lens. The bifocal transition is invisible to others unless they are in your face looking for it. They are truly excellent. |

It's time for bifocals. You could get some inexpensive reading glasses for use with contacts. Exactly my solution. My glasses (which I only wear at home) are no line bifocals. My contacts are -6.5, and I wear +1.25 reader for closeup work. It's annoying as fuck. From age 15 to age 49, my contacts were great. Then I started having problems reading up close, and about 2 years ago I just threw in the towel and went for the readers. In bright light I can read easily without the readers, but for computer work or reading Kindle, I need the readers. |
| Get some Eyebobs they use much better glass than regular cheaters. |

Shit just came out of nowhere. I hate it. Same. I got a few extra years of good vision compared to my peers, and I still had 20/20 near and 20/10 far vision back in the spring, but this month I noticed that I need the car just a couple inches higher on the jack stands than I did back in the summer to get normal focus on low hanging parts. |

Thanks for that site - I'll have to order some. I agree that the quality of the glass makes a big difference. I've bought some el-cheapo drugstore readers and they are crap. I have a $40 pair from Lenscrafters that are good, and I ordered a $125 pair from my optometrist that are great (they're the ones I keep at work on my desk). So $75 or so seems good. |

When our eyes go crappy again, can we get prk again? |
