I recently sold a Python...now I miss it!

I found one for $795.  It has no box/papers...about 97% condition with slight holster wear and the usual spotting on the hammer.

It seems to be mechanically excellent.  It does not show bugger marks on the screw heads that would indicate prior Bubba tinkering.  Lock-up is super-tight, bbl and crown look great.

My guess is that it has been fired less than it has been fondled.

It is blued, 6" BBL...SN# K45xxx.

I shouldn't be buying any more handguns this year...this would be handgun #7 for me this year.  However...I don't see Pythons very often around here anymore.

Should I jump all over it or wait for one in nicer condition with box/papers???

Sounds like a very good deal.  But why did you sell yours?

ETA:  I said buy it but I'm assuming you're going to shoot it from time to time.  I wouldn't wait for a nicer one unless it's going to be a safe queen.

It was a 4" nickel-plated...I always wanted the traditional blued 6".

I sold it to buy my Sig P226 Navy.

ETA:  Yes...I will shoot it...I don't do "safe queens"!

I own a six inch stainless I bought back in the early 80's. I probably haven't even shot 500 rounds through it. It just isn't one of my favorite guns so it lives a happy life in my safe. I didn't realize that they were selling so high now days. I was told by a friend that they are pricey and I should hang on to it.

They will continue to go up in price, unless Colt starts making revolvers. Which I cannot see them doing anytime soon while the war is going on.
