Gotta love the jaded hard men in this thread who think cartoons are for children.
Hard. Men. No doubt will be the ones who strike the match to start the next CW. No doubt. |

Lol. I’d wondered where my particular preferences for the female form came from (combination of feminine curves, with the curve of muscle tone. LOOOOOVE squat butt and curves of quads on a woman. The quads don’t have to be huge, but there something really hot (to me) about obvious quads that can only be developed from working out vs the average ‘lacking in muscle tone’ legs). It was only when I was at a public library in the early 2000s and realized that they actually had a comics section, and browsed through some old comics, and realized that those damned comics artists from the 80s and early 90s, had permanently warped my impressionable young mind |

That's quite the moral high ground you have there... |

I was born in 1990. I had to do some digging, but I have vague memories of this show, specifically the vehicles.

{Nasally nerd voice} Sir, the first Guardians of the Galaxy comic came out out in 1968, a few years before BOB.

Quoted: Great show, see my avatar !! Loved the theme tune. View Quote The God Phoenix was a cool ship. I have the original Gatchaman series on DVD and it was far better that BOTP/G-force. The Gatachaman theme song was better too. On that note, Space Battleship Yamato was better than Starblazers. Come to think of it Sandy Frank bought a lot of older anime and rewrote/dumbed down for the US market like Carl Macek did with Macross and Captain Harlock. |

I've looked at God Phoenix models for a while now, I really want one but I'm having trouble with coughing up a hundred bucks or more.

I must be a sheltered Gen Xer. I don't recognize any of this stuff.

Quoted: Gen X. No fkn clue what that is lol View Quote I'm thinking of reasons why the disconnect exists. Gen X was 64-81 correct? That's a 25 year spread amongst X'ers and a lot of time for tv to change. Also, location mattered more to us as things were more regional then. I was born in 74 and lived in DFW. These shows were on TV in my cartoon watching days. Earlier part of childhood along with Bugaloos, Sigmund the Sea Monster and Banana Splits. My wife, also born in 74 grew up in a small town outside of San Antonio and she had no idea what any of these were. This is probably the reason for the variation in content more than anything else. I don't think many of us had anywhere near as much screen time as kids do today. |
