I have a Dell all-in-one printer that prints too light at random intervals. Sometimes the whole page will be printed correctly, or it'll all be too light, or a few lines will be too light but the rest are correct.
Any idea what I should do?

The ink cartridge is new.
I'm not sure if it's set to "gray scale." What does that mean and where can I check? I have XP.
