Don't shop for a printer; Shop for a printer based on the price of INK.
I recommend the HP officejet 6480. Win 7 finds it, and you can enter your network SSID and PW directly on the printer through the menus. (Ergo, you don't have to use the HP bloatware) After 2 years of HARD use it is still going strong. Staples has coupons all the time ($10 off $50), so you can pick up ink pretty cheap. I would NOT recommend using ANY of HP's software. It is total bloatware. |

Do you need color?
If not, I've delt with some of these lately and they seem really nice. I have a 2000-series Brother at home and I like it a lot. If you need color, try something like this. Personally, I'd stay away from inkjets in both cases. Ink is simply too expensive to justify with decent quality lasers becoming more and more affordable all of the time. |

Canon Pixma MP620. Does Mac/PC fine, has wired and wireless networking, ink is reasonable. Got mine at Walmart for around $100, running it wired to my router.
Edit: use it primarily for photo printing, I have a Lexmark laser wired to the router for text printing. The canon does text fine too, I just prefer laser for that. |

Im looking for a printer that has a really good Photo printing capability. I had an all in one last year..i forgot who made it..and i also forgot i had it..but i gave it to my mom..im going to look into that series and see if they are still as good. |

Kodak. Best prices on supplies, works beautifully on the network with windows and Macs.
The 5250 is the one I have. |
