It's my folks printer, an Epson Stylus CX4600. It will print out pages of script/text only. For example, an ebay page (3 pages worth of the ad and pictures) will show up as script of 23 pages on print preview. I printed a test page which shows up fine, but it shows 31 additional files used by this driver. Ex: C:\System32\spool\Drivers\w32x86\3\E_FDSP9AA.DLL. Is this normal?
They use Windows XP 32 bit. What are my steps to fix this? |

may not be anything wrong...ebay pictures are not downloadable. It does it on every page i try to print from the internet. I haven't tried a word document yet. It won't print the page but a long list of script that looks like programing script. I'm not a computer guy but something is getting garbled from the computer to the printer. Its hooked up via a USB cable. I even switched ports on the computer and it still does it. The print preview doesnt show what should be printed but lines and lines of "<SCRIPT" crap. |

Have you tried re-installing the printer driver? Are you sure you have the correct driver for your particular printer? Are there any updated drivers available for download from Epson? I just removed the old drivers and re-installed with the disc. I haven't looked for updates yet but that is my next step. With the printer disconnected and unplugged it is still doing it. I'm thinking some garbage in the computer screwing with it but don't know where to look or what to do next. Oh, and it is an inkjet with ink cartridges. |

clear your spool files out
reinstall drivers Wait is this a usb or parallel port printer? If the latter make sure it's plugged in goodoh and be sure to power down the printer. ETA:Just saw it's still printing with it unplugged from the computer. power it off to clear the buffer. On your computer make sure there's nothing in your print queue. The garbage is from the printer driver not knowing how to interpret what it's suppose to be printing. |
