This and the lime Jarritos are my favorites, with the Jarritos having a slight edge.

Mexican Coke is awesome, when it's good, which is increasingly rare.  For the last several years, my track record of getting a good Mexican Coke isn't any better than finding the odd, rare great tasting HFCS Coke.

Yah, I'm confused.

Maybe the American Mexican Coke is still sugar... and they changed Mexico Mexican Coke over to HFCS?

Sugar Coke is awesome.

That's just weird.

Lies.

I'm looking at a bottle I just bought at Sam's club.

Ingredients: Cane sugar

Lab tests of "Mexican coke" (hint: if purchased far from Mexico it was never made or going there) has been shown to contain hfcs.

"Mexican Coke" as sold in America can differ from coke bottled and sold in Mexico; most of the Mexican Coke exported to the United States is made with cane sugar, while some Mexican bottlers may use high-fructose corn syrup for drinks intended for domestic sale in Mexico.

The "hecho en Mexico " cokes I get from the mercado have the stick on ingredient label that say cane sugar, or just sugar.

Also there's this...

https://www.acsh.org/news/2016/04/08/why-cokes-cane-sugar-soda-may-seem-just-like-the-high-fructose-kind

HFCS, a mixture of two single sugars is stable in soda, despite its relatively high acidity (pH 2.5  roughly the same acidity as vinegar). But, under these acidic conditions, sucrose slowly decomposes back to its monosaccharide components. The rate of this decomposition depends greatly on temperature. At room temperature, 90 percent of the sucrose will be gone in 100 days.

So even if made with cane sugar (sucrose) after a period of shipping and storage (longer the further you get from Mexico) it'll chemically have the signature of HFCS. The ratio of fructose to glucose should impact the flavor and the ratio from disassociation of the sucrose molecules likely translates to a different ratio of sugars than would be found if HFCS was used in the manufacture.

Tamarind is like one of the few things I've tasted that I just don't understand how someone would like it.

Love the other flavors though.

And love Manzana Lift (apple soda) & Horchata.

Tamarind by itself is very strong and not pleasant to me either.  But some added to other things in small amounts can be good.

I find kimchi to be the same.  I wouldn't want to just eat a bowl of kimchi, but add a little to some stir fry, and it gives it a nice zip.
