I have a Gateway notebook that seems to have quit accepting AC power. It will neither charge the battery, nor will it recognize that it is plugged into the wall. Since I now have a new laptop, mobility for the old one is a low priority. Is there a docking station or something similar that can be plugged into the battery port (in the place of the battery)?

I believe that my warranty is up on it, and even if it isn't, something that will allow it to be run like a desktop would be fine...

Any suggestions, or should I just bite the bullet and take it back to Best Buy for repair?

(the new laptop is an Acer Aspire 4330. I'm actually quite impressed. It's quite fast-even running Visata-which I have heard can be a memory hog (2GB ram is gooood). And for 350 bucks (less than half the cost of the gateway), it seems to be quite nice)

whats the model of the machine.   a docking station would be a work around depending on the age of the machine.
